A little wilder than a spa, a little more luxurious than nature – and absolutely amazing!
Petronella was the mother of Nils Berg who founded Marholmen and perhaps it was her love for Roslagen's beautiful archipelago that made him buy the island. We will never know for sure, but what we do know is that you will enjoy staying with us with this package, where you will stay comfortably in one of our pleasant hotel rooms with proximity to the water and surrounded by nature.

In the early 1900s, Wholesale Merchant Nils Berg owned and worked on the beautiful island of Marholmen. In 1924, he and his wife Hanna generously donated the island to the Swedish labor movement, creating a haven where workers could rest and recharge. Today, we continue to honor their legacy—welcoming guests aged 65 and over to enjoy a truly relaxing and restorative escape.
Merchant Nils Berg owned and lived here on Marholmen in the early 1900s. In 1924, he and his wife Hanna donated the island to the labor movement, to give workers a place for rest, learning, and recovery. Today, we carry on his legacy and invite you, if you’re over 65, to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay with us in the company of good friends.
